Bombs in central Iraq kill 7 people (AP)

BAGHDAD ? Iraqi officials say seven people have been killed by bombings in and around Baghdad.

Police officials say that several bombs planted outside a policeman's house in Saqlawiyah, 45 miles (75 kilometers) west of Baghdad, exploded at dawn on Friday, killing four members of his family and wounding three others.

Hours later, bombs planted near three mosques exploded minutes apart in and outside the Sunni-dominated Baghdad suburb of Abu Ghraib. Officials said three policemen were killed and 19 people were wounded.

Health officials confirmed the casualties. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they aren't authorized to brief the media.

Violence has dropped significantly in Iraq since the height of the sectarian conflict, but bombings still occur frequently.
